CSU-Pueblo has a new football program, a new logo, new uniforms, a new coach, and a shiny new stadium called the Thunderbowl.
The Thunderwolves of Colorado State-Pueblo will play their first game in 24 years this Saturday.
You talk to the players, the coaches, or any random person in pueblo, and they'll all tell you the same thing, it's about time.
“I’m really living the dream right now,” said CSU-Pueblo Victor Quintana. “We have this awesome facility that's helping us do everything. We have these great coaches with this huge history and past. It's almost just flying by.”
“It's something special, definitely,” said CSU-Pueblo defensive end Chase Vaughn. “It's a great feeling. I'm anxious, I'm already losing sleep, you know.”
Kickoff between the Thunderwolves and PanhandleState is Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Thunderbowl. Parking in the stadium lot and everywhere else on campus is free. Tailgating is allowed up to three hours before kickoff as long as you have the proper permission form.
