CC opens season with exhibition win

Chad Rau had two goals and an assist as the ColoradoCollege hockey team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat the University of Alberta in an exhibition Monday night at the Colorado Springs World Arena.

The Tigers, which jumped from fifth to third in this week’s USA Hockey poll, open the regular season for real this weekend with a two-game series against Alabama-Huntsville Friday and Saturday at the World Arena.

Alberta finishes the weekend 0-3 in games in Colorado this weekend losing to Denver Saturday night and Air Force on Sunday.
