DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Rockies have placed pitcher Jeff Frances on the 15-day disabled list with an inflamed left shoulder.
The team announced the move Wednesday and said left-hander Mark Redman from Triple-A Colorado Springs will take his place and start Thursday against the Florida Marlins.
The left-handed Francis is 3-7 this season with a 5.67 ERA this season. The Rockies say the roster move is retroactive to June 29.
The 34-year-old Redman started the season on the Rockies roster but was sent to Triple-A in May. He was 2-3 with a 7.84 ERA.
