10 more tigers are now calling Southern Colorado home.

All of them are females and they're at the Serenity Springs Wildlife Center.  The big cats are from a wildlife center in Missouri that had to close after one of the tigers attacked a volunteer. The volunteer survived, but lost a leg. The Missouri center also suffered financial problems.

So, Serenity Springs workers picked up all the tigers and brought them to Calhan yesterday. The Center Assistant Director Julie Walker says they're also adopting a more educational approach, "because we need to get out more in the community and educate people on, not only education on exotic animals not being a good pet, but conservation of the animals a lot of these cats have no more habitat in the wild so we really need to look at preserving these animals for the future."

You can see the 10 new tigers and 100 other big cats at Serenity Springs at 24615 Scott Road, Calhan.
