A traffic accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer sent a man to the hospital in Colorado Springs Thursday morning.
Firefighters believe the truck was making a right-hand turn from Pikes Peak onto Prospect when it collided with a Ford Explorer. Rescuers had to cut the roof off of the Explorer to remove the driver. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Eastbound traffic on Pikes Peak was temporarily diverted around the accident.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
