Going green at the DNC

Democrats promised that the DNC would be the greenest convention ever. So what are some of the things they did to make it happen?
When the delegates and all the media arrived they received a reusable water bottle and notebooks made out of recycled paper. One of the biggest signs of going green at the DNC was all the bicycles.
Humana donated one thousand bicycles for use during convention week. And all those bikes got a lot of use with 4,500 rides, nearly 21,000 miles of use, and around 645,000 calories burned. Some people liked the idea of the free bikes that anyone can use, that they want to bring the concept back home. "I am actually going to take this information back home, we can do this to," said Marla Wilson of Rockford, Illinois.
The city of Denver will keep 70 of the bicycles that were used during the convention and keep them downtown. They will be used as Denver launches its own bike borrowing program.
