Life goes on for Shaun Carney

Things are back to normal for Air Force quarterback Shaun Carney, or as close to normal as possible.
Carney suffered a severe knee injury in the fourth quarter of the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth on New Year’s Eve. He tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL. He’ll have surgery in about six weeks. He won’t be back to normal for close to a year.
But Carney will graduate this spring from the Air Force and he must continue to fulfill his duties there but it’s a little tougher on crutches and on a wheelchair.
"I think anytime I have to wheel across the Terrazzo and there is some snow on the ground is the toughest,” said Carney. “They need to throw some salt out there so they can get rid of that ice and snow. They're killing me! I have people push me. It's just hard not being independent.”
Carney says he will be able to walk down the aisle when he gets married June 28.
