Health care grants coming to Southern Colorado

The Department of Health Care Policy and Financing announced Wednesday that it has awarded funding to ten health care providers for a total $2.2 million, including three grants in Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
The program provides funding to health care providers in order to expand primary and preventive services to Colorado’s low-income residents. In Colorado Springs,
Mission Medical Center received funding; while in Pueblo, both Pueblo Community Health Center and St. Mary-Corwin Health Foundation received grants.
Since the first CPPC grant awards were made in April 2001, more than $26.9 million has been distributed to health care providers. This funding has succeeded in providing medical, dental, mental health and pharmaceutical services to at least 122,746 residents.
The Department of Health Care Policy & Financing administers the Medicaid and Child Health Plan Plus programs as well as a variety of other programs for Colorado’s low-income families, the elderly and persons with disabilities. The mission of the Department is to improve access to cost-effective, quality health care services for Coloradans.
