Hewlett-Packard has reportedly told 800 employees in Colorado Springs that they have to relocate to New Mexico or they'll be laid off. The Colorado Springs Gazette says employees in a customer service center have received the ultimatum. HP did not confirm the report, and has repeatedly refused to respond to News First questions regarding layoffs.
HP announced plans last week to open customer service and technical support centers in Rio Rancho, an Albuquerque suburb, and Conway, Ark., that together will employ 2,500 by 2012.
According to The Gazette, employees in the Springs have 45 days to make a decision.
