More Colorado drivers running on empty

More Colorado drivers are running out of gas and having to call for help according to Allstate Motor Club.
They say the number out-of-gas emergency calls on state highways has risen by more than 50 percent in the first five months of 2008 when compared to the same time last year.
Cally O’Donnell, an Allstate Agency Owner, says it’s a trend they're seeing around the country. "People are just trying to stretch their dollars further. They're trying to stretch their fuel into fumes. Watching that needle more closely. And sometimes they're over-shooting the mark just a little bit."
Allstate says cars use less gas when they travel at slower speeds on the interstate. Driving at 60 rather than 65 could save about 15 cents a gallon. Also, keeping your car maintained with regular tune ups helps your car run more efficiently. Coming up in July, we'll have many stories on issues like this as we focus on "Pain at the Pump."
