More than 50 recent high school graduates enrolled in a summer Upward Bound program at Colorado State University-Pueblo performed a community service project. The Martin Luther King Center and Museum received two days worth of lawn work and cleaning thanks to Upward Bound students.
Upward Bound prepares students to graduate from high school, successfully enter college, and earn a four-year degree. The program works with 135 students each year. They enroll in a series of academic courses, live in the residence halls, and learn how to cooperate within a large group setting.
Any student who attends Pueblo County, Central, Centennial, East, and South who are the first in their family to attend college or low-income may apply for the program.
