10-year-old boy shot by arrow near Ellicott

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says a 10-year-old boy was hit by an arrow, shot by a family friend. The arrow went through the boy's arm and into his side.
He was airlifted out of Ellicott to Memorial Hospital. A spokesman for the Sheriff's Office says they didn't want to have to drive him over bumpy dirt roads. The injuries are non-life threatening.
The spokesman says the boys were shooting arrows in the yard and the incident appears to be an accident.
