A 25 foot long giant squid was found in northern California. The remains of this rare behemoth were discovered at Santa Cruz Harbor, which is on the northern edge of Monterey Bay.
Biologists examining the carcass said it had tentacles as thick as a human leg.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says only a handful have ever been found in California waters.
The squid was taken to a lab for a necropsy.
Researchers say giant squid can grow 50-60 feet long, and weigh up to a ton.
