Dozens of rare loggerhead turtles have been released back into the Atlantic Ocean.

Volunteers released a combined 142 turtles in separate events near Florida's Vero Beach on Monday.

The turtles were captured two years ago as hatchlings and raised at a facility in Texas as part of a program to increase the number of loggerheads in the wild.
