Fabulous fun on the 4th of July

Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs' Fabulous Fourth will be held in Memorial Park. Activities get underway at 5 p.m. with carnival games, pony rides and live music from local bands. At 8:00, the Colorado Springs Philharmonic will take the stage. Fireworks that will go off at dark.

Manitou Springs
The music will also be playing in Manitou for their Patriotic Celebration. The festivities begin at 5 p.m. with street performers and a bar-be-que in Soda Springs Park. This year the fireworks will be in a new location, at Higgenbotham Flats off Highway 24. The best viewing locations will be downtown Manitou, Soda Springs Park, and Manitou's Memorial Park. The show starts at dusk.

Pueblo
It will be a beach party in Pueblo starting at 3 p.m.on the Riverwalk. Boat rides, hula dancing and food will be available. The Pueblo Symphony will play during the fireworks, which go off at dark.

Pueblo West
Return to the Wild West in Pueblo West promises a full day of festivities. It begins with a breakfast, followed by a fun run, wet parade and a golf tournament the following day. Most of the activities will take place on the corner of Joe Martinez Blvd. and Purcell. That's where the fireworks will be set off at 9:30 p.m.

Cripple Creek
Cripple Creek will celebrate an Old Fashioned 4th all day long. Enter a watermelon eating contest or shop from the street vendors on Bennett Ave. There will be a fireworks display on both Friday and Saturday.

Palmer Lake/Monument
The Tri-Lakes 4th Festival will be get started early with a pancake breakfast and wrap up with a fireworks show and concert. The Air Force Academy's Wild Blue Country band will play at the Palmer Lake Baseball Field.

Woodland Park
The City Above the Clouds will have an Old Fashioned Fourth Celebration all day. Festivities will be held at Woodland Park's Memorial Park. The fireworks will be at the high school.

Canon City
Canon City's Fourth of July Celebration gets under way at 5:30 at Pueblo Communities College's Fremont Campus. Fireworks will be shot off from far atop Skyline Dr. starting at 9:30.
