Animals orphaned by Hurricane Ike being hand-raised

Some of Hurricane Ike's tiniest victims have been taken to Oklahoma for rehabilitation.
Nearly 150 baby squirrels orphaned in the storm are now at the WildCare animal rehabilitation center in Noble. They're being hand-raised and bottle-fed.
The squirrels will be nursed to health and taught to live on their own before being released back into the wild in east Texas.
They won't be sent back to the Houston area where they were collected because much of their habitat was destroyed.
