Cat owners may have to soon get their pets licensed in Colorado Springs.
The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region is pushing for all cats over four-months-old to be licensed. Dr. Wes Metzler, Humane Society Director said, "We think these are important because we've seen such an increase in the numbers of cats. Increase in the number of cats we have to euthanize because we can't get them back to their homes."
A draft ordinance will go before the Colorado Springs City Council next month. At that time, the council will take public input. You can also contact councilmembers before the measure is considered.
