California's Imperial Beach has gone to the dogs. It wasn't just beach-goers catching the waves there this weekend, but man's best friend as well.
The canines were hanging ten for a great cause at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort Surf Dog Competition. It's billed as the largest dog surfing competition in the nation.
Hundreds turned out to see the four-leggers ride the waves, and for a few, wipe out with a splash. But as all good dogs do, they just shook it off.
Some of the pups even rode the board with a partner, coasting all the way to shore to cheers from the crowd. The competition donates all of the event proceeds to its charity.
In the three years of crowning a surfer dog, the Loews Coronado Bay Resort contest has raised over $10,000.
