Started at News First:  February 2005

Hometown:  Pueblo, Colorado - born and raised here.

Previous stations:

KVEW-TV, the ABC affiliate in Kennewick, Washington.  I worked there as a reporter from March 2003 to October 2004.  This was my first job as a reporter.

KKTV-TV, the CBS affiliate in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  I worked as a video tape editor from August 2002 to March 2003.

KTSC-FM Rev 89, the college radio station at Colorado State University-Pueblo.  My senior year, I worked as a disc jockey, the webmaster, the production manager, and the traffic manager.  My on-air name was "D Money."

Education: I'm a graduate of South High School in Pueblo.  I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication at the University of Southern Colorado, which is now called Colorado State University-Pueblo.

Personal Interests:  I like to roller blade, ski, play tennis, go fishing, and play board games.

Interesting facts:

Long before I got into television news, I was a pizza maker.  I got to the point where I cold slap out a dough ball and sauce it in about 15 seconds.

In September 2005, another photographer and I drove the News First Sat Link truck to report on Hurricane Rita.  This marked the first time in KOAA history that this satellite truck was used outside of Colorado for a live broadcast.

I lived in Fargo, North Dakota for about a year.

Several years before I started reporting on News First 5/30, I appeared on a newscast as an intern, answering phone calls for a News First Listens call-in night.

I must have been a shy kid, because in grade school, I was voted "Quiet as a mouse."

I'm allergic to tomatoes.

About working at News First:  We appreciate and welcome input from our viewers.  We take pride in telling "your stories."  It's one more example that here at News First, we put you first.
